We will be moving into remote learning starting on Monday, November 30. As we plan the next few days, we will all need patience and understanding as we navigate this transition. But do know that we will be able to continue to develop our math skills at the grade nine level.
This week's plan (at this stage):
Wednesday, Nov 25 - Continue working on the Coin Problems Worksheet we started yesterday. There are solutions in our Handouts in Google Classwork. Students will also be given a lesson handout and practice questions around Mixture Problems. These problems aren't being formally assigned at this stage but are given to help those who want to further develop their problem solving skills.
Thursday, Nov 26 - Review for the quiz on Friday. We will do the following mid-unit review questions pg 286 # 5bdf, 7bde, 8.
If feeling confident with those, then explore mixture problems. If wanting more variable isolating practice, then do more questions from #5 & 7.
Friday, Nov 27 - As planned, we will do a quiz on Isolating the Variable and Algebra Problem Solving (that focuses on the first worksheet we did). This will be an open book assessment. Students will be able to use their notes and practice work (but not chromebooks).
Next week, we will start our work on Algebraic Inequalities. Please stay tuned for how our classes will continue. Google Classroom will continue to be our main platform for updates, resources and assignments.
As we start to share work online, students may want to use this phone scanner app for preparing files.
